Ferries to the island dock at Stornoway (Lewis) or Tarbert (Harris) and are operated by Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd. Travelling by this means to the island is a most enjoyable and relaxing experience; it's not unusual to see dolphins, porpoises or whales from the boat deck.
